What is Healthy Kids?

Healthy Kids is a health insurance program for low-income children in Santa Clara County. Administered by Santa Clara Family Health Plan, a public not-for-profit organization, Healthy Kids - the first program of its kind in the nation - fills the gap created by stringent eligibility requirements of Medi-Cal and Healthy Families. Unlike Medi-Cal and Healthy Families, Healthy Kids accepts children regardless of their immigration status.

Modeled after the Healthy Families program, Healthy Kids provides comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage to eligible children. The program is designed to be affordable, and SCFHP maintains a hardship fund for premium assistance when families experience unusual financial difficulties.
